'Light and Waves'
Yusef Suleiman MohamedSuleiman was born in the tiny rural parish of Standish in Gloucestershire, England. It is located in one of the most unspoiled parts of the English countryside, so, not surprisingly, nature is a key feature of his artworks.
His father was a keen environmentalist and botanist and from an early age Sulieman was heavily involved with the environment. His mother was a craft potter. Growing up in the beautiful Gloucestershire countryside, he was surrounded by artists - sculptors, painters and potters.
With a keen interest in travel he has lived and worked in North Africa, the Middle East and Asia.
He has lived in White Nile Province, Sudan and Java (Indonesia). but now is working in Saudi Arabia but building a home in Oriental Mindoro on the beautiful island of Mindoro, Philippines
Nowadays, the tropical beauty of Mindoro, its rain-forests, mountains and pristine beaches and its warm-hearted people are a great inspiration.
His paintings come from memories of places once visited; some are pure imagination.
Suleiman has exhibited in galleries in Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, and the UK and has drawings and paintings in private collections in Saudi Arabia, Sudan, UK, Indonesia and the Philippines.
Although his heart is in the lush green forests of Mindoro, he feels equally at home in the vast deserts of Arabia - his home away from home.
His interest in photography and painting is the delicate play of color and light.
